Reasons To Be Happy You Live In Surrey
If you already live here, then you know how wonderful it is. It’s no exaggeration to say that we live in what is possibly the loveliest county in the land. Yes, Surrey. The name alone simply trips off the tongue with a disarming grace and easy majesty. But beyond the obvious, what exactly is it that makes living here such a delight? What are the main reasons to be happy you live in Surrey? Since we dart around the county (and beyond) doing removals every day, we think we have a good grasp on the best things about calling this place your home.
Transport links. They just can’t be bettered. We have two international airports on our doorstep (Heathrow and Gatwick) and getting to the capital is easy by train or road. That’s why the county is often the first choice for people who have London careers but don’t want to be full-time Londoners. The best of both worlds is possible when you live in Surrey. You can have the restful retreat of the countryside to go back to every night and leave the mania and frenzy of the city far behind.
Stunning countryside. The Surrey Hills are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and they richly deserve their AONB status. For running, picnics, cycling, roaming and gentle walking, the Surrey countryside is one beautiful vista after another – it’s nothing short of sweet balm for the eyes and at time of stress, there’s no better cure. Whatever ails you, the charm of the outdoors in Surrey will make it better. You could spend time in the Mole Valley and explore pretty villages like Mickelham or have a walk in Oxshott Heath. And that’s just a small fraction of the lovely places to see. There are plenty of other wide open spaces as well as adorable, chocolate box hamlets and seeing every one of them will take a lifetime.
Good schools. This is a point of huge importance for new parents who’ve perhaps moved here from London. Our state schools perform, year after year, extremely well and we’re also home to a number of internationally renowned private ones (e.g. Charterhouse).
