Summer Highlights in Surrey

Plenty is happening in Surrey this summer – whether you’re a music fan, a theatregoer, a history buff or a food lover, Surrey has something for everyone. WH Cox and Son are proud to be part of this beautiful county, and we’ve moved thousands in and out of Surrey in the past forty years, and if you’re thinking of moving to the area, we suggest that you check out what Surrey has to offer.
Surrey’s Festivals and Summer Highlights
One of the highlights of this summer is undoubtedly the Guildford Fringe Festival which runs throughout July, which covers comedy, theatre, poetry, visual arts, children’s shows, workshops and music. There’s something to suit everyone’s tastes – a firm favourite for residents and visitors alike.
For something a bit different, you can visit the Urban Beach on 18th – 20th of August, as Guildford transforms into Guildford-on-Sea, where you can enjoy the unique urban beach setting.
The Woking Food and Drink Festival is a must for all foodies – with over eighty exhibitor stalls serving local produce and dishes from all over the world, this famous festival is free to attend and has live cookery from some celebrity chefs.
There are many outdoor theatre performances throughout the summer at Hatchlands Park in East Clandon, and with outdoor cinema screenings at Hampton Court Palace in East Molesey and Kew Gardens in Richmond, you can enjoy the arts outdoors while the weather is still good.
Other Things to Do in Surrey –
Surrey has many historical places to visit – Hatchlands Park is the site of a Georgian mansion built in the 1750s which now showcases art and furniture from the period. If you want some spectacular views of the Surrey countryside, you can head to Polesden Lacy National Trust property. This Edwardian site is a perfect place to enjoy country walks or just relax in the summer sun. Hampton Court Palace is where you can enter the bygone Tudor era. There’s a maze, family trails, costumed guided tours.
For those who like adrenaline then you’re in the right place. Surrey has two of the most popular theme parks in the UK, Thorpe Park in Chertsey and Chessington World of Adventures, which is also a zoo. Surrey has a lot of National Trust sites and museums, working farms and outdoor adventure places to visit, like Wild Wood Adventure in Guildford.
If you want to see the real beauty of Surrey, then you should head to Leith Hill in Dorking. Leith Hill is the highest point in the south-east of England, the views from its gothic tower stretch out to London and the English Channel.
WH Cox & Son – Surrey’s Favourite Moving Company –
If you’re planning on moving to Surrey and you’re looking for a reputable moving company, then you’re in the right place. WH Cox & Son is a family-run business that has been relocating people for over forty years. In that time, we’ve gained a loyal base of customers who always return to use our services. One of our proudest moments is when we receive a new client by referral – our number one goal is to provide the best service possible.
We cover the whole of Surrey, Middlesex and we do a lot of removals from people moving from London. Because we’re situated outside of London we’re able to offer the same level of service you’d receive from a London-based company but at much lower rates. WH Cox’s team has extensive knowledge of the areas we cover, and we plan every detail for every job we undertake.
WH Cox & Son has earned its reputation of being Surrey’s favourite moving company by our hard work and dedication to your customers.
