A little about Horsley…
A small village and civil parish in Surrey, England, Horsley is a settlement partly on the A246, nestled between Leatherhead and Guildford. The area can be traced back as far as the Domesday Book of 1086, when it was listed as having two manors held by the then Archbishop of Canterbury, as well as 8 ½ ploughs.
Today, a line of shops and local businesses make up the village in West Horsley with a substantial woodland to the south. The area’s religious practices take place as the Diocese of Guildford and Anglican church. Although well-spaced out, pubs can be found in and around Horsley, although it’s definitely not a hedonistic area by any stretch of the imagination.
An amateur theatre, by the name of Nomad Theatre, is home to several plays every year and is financed by Arts Council England, opening in October 1998 and continuing to house local talent to this day.
